ADJUSTING TECHNOLOGY TO DISABLED STUDENTS NEEDS

Activities of ADA Technology Corporation

ADA Technology develops its programs to fix the lack of accessible technology for severely disabled students. The main focus of its activities are twofold:

1. ADA Technology's awareness campaign

The awareness campaign educates the community about the lack of IT accessibility in addition to adaptive technologies, advanced tools, new Internet standards, and universal web design.

This information will be delivered via the ADA Technology online awareness programs, ADA Technology Online Center and Learning News Network, as well as through printed materials and the local media. ADA Technology's community trainings and workshops will also include awareness education.

2. ADA Technology's services for severely disabled students

The services will include helping severely disabled students to access and use computers and the Internet in addition to providing them with learning materials fully accessible and adjustable for their needs.

The first group of disabled users served by ADA Technology will be severely disabled wheelchair-bound students. Named ADA Tech Students Connect, the program will start with a pilot group from Lowell High School. Other local disabled students will be connected to ADA Tech learning web Network later, after completion of the pilot program.

Upon successful implementation of ADA Tech Students Connect fully accessible learning web network for the Lowell high schools' students, the network will be expanded or duplicated for other communities.

ADA Technology's ultimate goal is to organize ADA Technology Community Center to
  • deliver multimedia and online learning material in digital forms that are fully accessible for severely disabled students and adjusted to their needs
  • give severely disabled students tools for access and use of the network
  • expand, duplicate and maintain the ADA Tech fully accessible learning web network
